• registration is required before contributing anything. should happen at the end of the workflow.
• inconsistency between username and real name
• not sure where to start. dashboard for almanators or repeat users?

CREATING & EDITING A STORY / ALMANAC

• there is no tour
• "create an almanac" button doesn't seem like a button
• "add your story" prompt is not strong enough (once you've created an almanac), especially when there are no stories yet.
• flickr integration is weak -- requires right-clicking photo and pasting image url.
• creating an almanac, it's not clear that the extents of your map frame represent the bounding box of the almanac.
• map editing tools are inconsistent (add story vs. edit story)
• placing a story on the map, it's not clear that you should use the pencil or line tools. might want to do something to make this clearer (e.g, start with a pin on the map with a popup in it, or flash a message inside the map, pointing to the tools.

VIEWING STORIES / ALMANACS

• list of almanacs on front page doesn't suggest richness or depth of each (# of stories, # of comments, etc.)
• "story" view for photos & videos is a bit bleak. description doesn't tie to media well. (see http://almanacdev.opengeo.org/test/boerum-hill/brooklyn-bridge-park)
• stories don't lead you anywhere (back to the almanac, to other stories, etc.). you read it an that's it. Perhaps there should be a "next/previous" tool, so you can keep browsing stories in the same almanac.
• photos and videos in a list should have the thumbnail, not just the icon.
• stories should be in pins, with shadows, to make them stand out on the map.
• almanac filters seem silly when there are few stories. should only show up when they produce results.
