Information for Almanac Testers

This document provides information for getting started as a tester. If you have been testing the application and want to provide feedback, find information on the feedback page. The attachments below give mor ein-depth information ("Information" files -- choose PDF or DOC format).

Getting started with your almanac

1. Follow the link to your almanac from the test site
2. Browse around the maps, click on links to view stories, and follow the "add yours" links to add your own story.
3. Use the search box to enter addresses or place names. If a match is found, your map will be recentered on the place you specified.

Things to keep in mind

• The almanac maps initially show the entire extent of the "community" which they represent. In most cases, this will be larger than the area that really represents your community. We will have the initial view for the maps be centered on a location that makes more sense, but for now, the entire extent is visible initially.

Limitations

We're modifying the functionality of the almanacs and adding new features during this test phase. If you encounter something that doesn't work (especially if it is listed below), check back in a few days to see if the feature has been added.
